So Long, Shanahan

For as long as I can remember, I have cheered on my beloved Denver Broncos. Every Sunday during football season, you can always count on me to be sporting my Broncos sweatshirt or some other form of Bronco apparel. I scream at the tv (both postively and negatively) and feel personally betrayed when we lose or if a player is traded. When Elam left last season, I was in denial and didn't want to believe the league's best kicker was now playing for someone else. Anyway, since I've been a Bronco fan, Mike Shanahan has been the head coach. Well, after a dismal 8-8 season, he was fired yesterday. While I agree that some changes needed to be made to get the team back up to par, I don't feel that canning Shanahan is the right thing to do. I think he could have turned the team around (hello? Did you see our IR list this season?! It wasn't all his fault). But now he is going to go to some other team and come back and wallop Denver next year. I feel like a part of my football loving Bronco hysteria is now gone forever. So long, Shanahan.
